Story

Hi.

On 26th April 2009 I will be setting off on a solo unsupported 1000 mile cycle ride from Lands End to John o'Groats (plus another 200 miles down hill back to Fort William!) and aim to raise £2000 for Help for Heroes.

I have decided to raise funds for H4H in memory of my friend, Mark Hylands, who had served in the RAF Regiment and who died suddenly last October at the age of 43. This charity was close to his heart and I will be riding my socks off in memory of him and, in some small way, give something back to our injured service personnel for all they have done for the security of our country and others – thanks and well done.

Visit my website for more details -http://joneses100.co.uk/default.aspx

UPDATE - I completed the challenge in 12 days and covered 1072 miles in total -hurrah!

If  you were wondering who the handsome chap on the left was, he is the Mighty Martian. He is the mascot for a group of Essex motorcyclists who visit Scotland every year (he also looks after the beer money!). A few years back, whilst riding wing-man on the rear of a VFR, MM came under attack from another bike and despite an heroic attempt to avoid the crash, he got taken out. But to his credit he didn't lose a single penny from the whip!
