At Macmillan, we will move mountains to help people with cancer live life as fully as they can. We’re doing whatever it takes. But without your help we can’t support everyone who needs us. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

January this year, my dad was diagnosed with Mouth Cancer.  At the time of writing he's in Bradford Royal Infirmary being readied to have the tumour removed.  Anyone that has met him, will probably know how selfless he can be, he probably won't appreciate the attention he's getting at the moment.

Well dad, sorry but it's tough, your turn to be waited on for a while ; )

To quote the stats, "one in three of us will get cancer".  Whether it has already affected your family or not, I can understand it being in the back of many folks minds that at some point it will affect someone close to them.  It would be nice to think that at some point this concern is a thing of the past.

Until that sunny day, the patients and families will continue to rely on the support, research and fund raising of charities like Macmillan.

Macmillan stood out as first choice for a target charity.  I was impressed with the fundraising opportunities, support they offer, for families and patients alike.  Luckily for my dad he's got plenty of folks to fuss around him over the next few weeks but many aren't quite as fortunate.

On June 14th I'll be heading up the yorkshire peaks of Whernside, Peny-ghent, and Ingleborough on a 25 mile hike in support of Macmillan.  To complete the challenge, the trip has to be completed within 12 hours and the finishing line is the starting point.

Your sponsorship is extremely valued ladies & gents!

I work from home, so unfortunately I can't hassle colleagues on a daily basis by shaking a sponsorship form, so in a little plea here, I'm shaking it at you!

10p, 20p I don't care how much it is, everything counts & I want to make this trip as worthwhile as it can be, so many thanks in advance to everyone that can help to contribute.

Little shout out here to my girl Rebecca Hudson, who has also signed herself up to tackle the challenge.  I'll post a link to her page once it is up.

You're a superstar, I love you, and promise to bring some plasters this time.
