Okay, I'll keep this simple.
On 15th July 2011, I'll be climbing Goat Fell (standing at an impressive 2868ft) on the Isle of Arran, off the West Coast of Scotland.
AND I WILL BE DRESSED AS A GOAT.
Why you may ask?
Well, a lot of you will know that over the last couple of years I've been involved with a charity called Phunzira. Our aim was to build a learning centre in a small village called Ruarwe in Malawi. With amazing support and hard work, we're delighted to say that the building work at the centre is close to being finished!!!
However, there's still plenty of work to do - and one of the priorities is to establish an I.T room where computers can be accessed. This will have a massive impact on learning within the centre and provide amazing opportunities for the people within the local community.
Myself and the whole of Twig (the company I've been working for in Glasgow for the past year, building the World's First Video Encylopedia for schools) are getting involved and will also be raising money for this. Together we hope to raise enough money to buy and install solar panels and laptops to help establish the I.T room. On top of this Twig are going to give access to the hundreds of films they made so far, so the people in Ruarwe can have them as an amazing learning resource.
Any sponsorship that you can give will make a huge, huge, real difference.
You can read the blog post about the event on Twig's website HERE!
And find out more about Phunzira HERE!
Many Thanks!
Jonny
