Our personal message:

Hi Everyone.

In June 2008 I'll be riding a motorcycle solo, round the world in an attempt to raise money for two Charities. Firstly Napac, a charity set up to help sufferers of childhood abuse and secondly Lothlorien, a therapeutic community for people with mental health difficulties . I'll be riding from Scotland to Alaska, via Europe, the Middle East, India and Australia. In Australia I'll hopefully be catching a boat to South America and riding all the way up the Americas and Canada to arrive eventually in Alaska in the summer of 2009. Whenever possible I'll be attempting to avoid transporting by air, instead taking any available passages by boat in an attempt to reduce my own carbon footprint and perhaps bring some awareness to others of our impact on the global environment. You can find all the information, photos and a journal of my travels and more at www.earthtrek.co.uk

Thinking of what lies ahead of me I think first and foremost my main objective is to get round the globe form Scotland to Alaska in one piece and be as open to new experience as much as I possibly can. I'd also like to raise as much money as possible for both of my charities and bring awareness of them to the general public. I'm expecting to take a year to complete this trip, though I'm not planning to put any time scale on my journey. There are a few things I'd like to do on route such as working in WWOOF farms, who allow volunteers to work on organic farms around the globe for board and lodge, as well as learn to kitesurf, dodgy shoulder permitting and perhaps teaching kids practical skills on rural projects in Asia.

Please feel free to donate whatever you can  and if you'd like to sponsor me personally or you want to ask me anything please feel free to contact me through the contact pages on my website.

Thanks and all the best

Jonny
