Stephanie Moore MBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund in partnership with Cancer Research UK, following the death of her husband, Bobby Moore, from bowel cancer. The Bobby Moore Fund is now a leader in the fight against bowel cancer, funding research that’s helping more people to survive than ever before.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my site. You may or may not be aware that on the 15th November I shall be heading to South Africa for 10 days to help the locals rejuvenate a local school and football pitch in order to raise money for the Bobby Moore Fund (part of Cancer Research UK)

Full details of the project can be found online at http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/bobbymoorefund/getinvolved/events/projectsouthafrica/

As part of my agreement with Cancer Research I have to raise a minimum total of £4,000 - which is huge! Hopefully you good people can donate whatever you can afford....to coin a phrase, every little helps.

UPDATE - 8th September 2008

It's been some time since I updated this website due to moving house and lack of internet access but I'm pleased to announce that the college I work in (Oriel Specialist Maths and Computing College) have kindly agreed to allow me to host a charity fun run (or walk!) on Sunday 28th September within the grounds. If you are willing to particpate a sponsonrship form should be avaialbe via the Oriel website within the next few days. Should you simply wish to sponsor someone you know who is taking part please do so and write the name of the person you are sponsoring when you make your donation.

The plan for the day is to host a fun run/walk of roughly a mile long around the college field, definitive start times will be set once I know how many people are prepared to participate. Remember, you don’t have to run it – you can go as fast or as slow as you like, it genuinely is the taking part that counts.

Update - 23/10/08

Due to lack of participants (note 7!) the fun run didn't take place unfortunately. As you can see I haven't raised nowhere near the target amount and am now hopefully deferring my place towards next years project and perhaps I'll be a bit more organised when it comes to raising money...thanks for donations so far - they still count towards next years project if I'm able to go.

Thanks for your time....heres the obligatory information....

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Bobby Moore Fund for Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
