As you will no doubt have gathered by now, I am once again proud to be supporting the Samaritans, but there is a change of venue - I have chosen to run this year's marathon in the wonderful and historic city of my birth, Berlin.

I am committed to running a big city marathon every year to raise money for charity, and I feel that Samaritans provides an invaluable service for a lot of people who need confidential support at a time of crisis.

I will be funding the cost of the event (airfare, hotel costs, plus all my training expenses) myself so whilst I appreciate this is not an easy time for many of us please do everything you can to support me in this year's appeal.
