Yes I was walking!  This is less than one mile from the finish.  I kept up with the womble until he put in a sprint finish at the end - 2nd year running he has beaten me by a few yards!

My time in the searing heat was 5 hours and 6 mins - and you can tell by the look on my face it was extremely painful!

I ran for a local charity which needs even more support in its struggle to provide its incredibly valuable services, which are given free to the local South Hampshire Community.

1 in 3 of us will be diagnosed with some form of cancer, and there are over 200 different types.    It is likely that all of us in our lifetime will know family or a friend who has been diagnosed with cancer.   Many years ago my grandmother was and very sadly she died.  A little later, my cousin, who successfully fought against it.   Within the last month a close friend, for whom I pray things go well.

The Harbour Cancer Support Centre offers patients, family, carers and friends a place to go locally, where they can receive information, counselling and complimentary therapies.  More importantly it  gives a sense of community and a sharing of the burden of those far reaching consequences of cancer.

Every single penny of your donation will help the continuation of that support which has been a huge comfort to thousands of people "touched" by cancer in my local area for many years.
