Story

You know how sometimes you hear or read something, and it just stops you in your tracks?......The moment I read about Adam was one of those moments for me.

Adam is a 6yr old boy from Epsom, who has a rare and aggressive form of cancer. He and his parents need to raise £300,000 so they can go live in America for 6 months while Adam has some surgery. You can read more about Adam here........http://www.adamsappeal.org/

I can't begin to imagine how his parents (Nick and Alison) must feel, but I do know that if I were in their shoes I would be screaming inside for people to help, and therefore I've decided to try and help Adam.

So - my aim is to run a 1/2 marathon called the Midsummer Munro (here is a fly-through Video), which has over 3,000 ft of height gain or loss. This is equivalent to a Munro (mountains in Scotland which are over 3000ft high), hence the name! To help put this in context, the height in building terms is equal to:

1.1 times the height of the world's tallest building (Burj Khalifa in Dubai)

2.5 times the height of the Empire State Building in NYC

3 times the height of the Eiffel Tower in Paris

9.5 times the height of Big Ben in London

............ or is equal to 522 times my own height!

Here are some pictures from my 2nd training run on the course....... please note the rain clouds!

My hope is that enough people will sponsor me that I can raise £1 for every ft of height gained or lost, and that through your generosity we can contribute over £3,000 to Adam's Appeal. This will only be 1% of what is needed to enable Nick and Alison to be in the position I would want to be if I were them - which is able to do whatever it takes to give their little boy the best possible chance of living a happy healthy life.

Thanks for taking the time to read about Adam, and please dig deep - no amount is too small (or too large!)
