Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page in support of The PKD Charity.
On the evening of Sunday 4 September, we will be hosting a Magic Night at the Radlett Centre (1 Aldenham Avenue, Radlett, WD7 8HL) in aid of The Polycystic Kidney Disease Charity (“The PKD Charity”). If you are unable to attend on the night but would like to make a donation, we would be very grateful for your support.
We have a very close personal connection with The PKD Charity. Polycystic kidney disease (known as “PKD”) is the mostly common genetically acquired disease affecting 12.5 million people worldwide. There is currently no cure for the disease but research to find a treatment to slow down the progression of the disease is underway. Funds are urgently required for this research and we would like to play a part in raising them. PKD is characterized by the presence of multiple cysts on the kidneys. The cysts are numerous and are fluid-filled, resulting in enlargement of the kidneys, raised blood pressure and, eventually, kidney failure. The disease can also damage the liver, pancreas and, in some rare cases, the heart and brain. Approximately 50% of patients with PKD have end-stage renal disease by no later than the age of 60 but often the disease strikes at a much younger age.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Thank you in advance for your support.
