Stratford Triathlon 2018 · 29 April 2018 ·

Inspired by the lives of Dr Dominic Beer and Joseph Harris we fund raise to support community projects, raise awareness and facilitate research in order to promote improved mental health in two groups of people: adults suffering from Severe and Enduring Mental Illness and young adults

Story

We are competing in the Stratford Triathlon 2018 in memory of our dear friend, Joseph Harris, who sadly passed away in November 2017 whilst undertaking charity work in South Africa. Joe was a funny, charming and warm young man, with a contagious smile and boisterous sense of humour, and he will be sorely missed.

Joe was an avid sportsman throughout his life. He cycled, ran and played rugby, and was a passionate member of the Warwick University Lacrosse Club. However, where he truly excelled was as a triathlete, representing Great Britain at the 2012 Under 20 World Championships. It is for this reason that we will be aiming to complete the Stratford Triathlon in his memory.

We will be raising money for the Dominic Beer Memorial Trust, a charity which Joe was a trustee of. The charity was set up in honour of Dominic Beer, Joe's uncle, and aims to support projects or research that will benefit people suffering from severe mental illness.
