Dad had a heart condition caused by Rheumatic Fever when he was a child and he subsequently needed two Aortic Heart Valve replacement operations, the first in 1983 atSt George’sHospital, and the other in 1996 at St Mary’s Hospital.  He also required a pacemaker following his first operation.  His health was good up until the summer of 2008 when he suffered a haemorrhagic stroke following an angioplasty and insertion of a stent into one of his coronary arteries.
