One match – 24 hours
The Fun Weekend taking place 2/3 July 2011 is at Redbridge Sports & Leisure centre, Forest Road, Barkingside, Ilford, Essex.
The main event is the 24 hour non-stop football match in which an ever present Newbury Forest team will compete against a variety of other participants ranging from local celebrities, current & ex football players, tv personalities as well as other local teams the club has close connections with.
While the big (and long!) match is taking place there will be fun for all the family with activities such as bouncy castles and other inflatable fun, a 5 aside youth tournament, BBQ and drinks, penalty competitions, Feed the Goat competition and much much more.
If you would like to get involved or would like any more information please contact us at gofor24@newburyforestfc.co.uk – there are still places available in the youth tournament from u8 – u14 so if you would like to enter a team please get in touch!
Down’s Syndrome Association
Newbury Forest FC are proud to be raising funds for the Down’s Syndrome Association, a charity the club has had a close relationship with for many years.
About the Down’s Syndrome Association:
The DSA are the only organisation in this country focusing solely on all aspects of living successfully with Down's syndrome. Since 1970, they have grown from being a local parent support group to a national charity with over 20,000 members, a national office in Teddington Middlesex, offices in Northern Ireland and Wales. Despite this, the organisation is run by a total staff of only 33 (many of them part time), and a network of around 126 regional volunteer-led support groups.
Their mission
To provide information and support for people with Down's syndrome, their families and carers, and the professionals who work with them.
They strive to improve knowledge of the condition.
To champion the rights of people with Down's syndrome.
