I am raising funds for the charity, Target Ovarian Cancer.  The fundraising will help support women living with ovarian cancer, fund research into urgently needed new treatments and help them to continue raising awareness of the disease.

As with all cancers, early detection and treatment is the key to survival.  However, with almost a third of women facing delays of six months or more in getting a correct diagnosis from first visiting their GP, it is perhaps not surprising that survival rates for ovarian cancer in the UK are amongst the lowest in Europe.

I think most of us have been touched by cancer at some point in our lives and my company, Spectrum Cleaning Solutions, have decided to join forces with Target Ovarian Cancer, to help raise funds for this worthwhile charity and each time we site a new feminine hygiene unit we donate 50p per bin.

I don't  feel that is enough!  I personally feel so blessed.  I am a happy, healthy individual who enjoys life and, at the time of writing I have a positive future ahead.  I know that you can never take any of this for granted and without your health, life is difficult and sometimes unbearable.  However, I am currently fit and healthy and so, on behalf of the 7,000 women who have been diagnosed with or will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer this year, I will walk the Three Peaks to raise money.
