Story
At the end of March 2009, 36 students from the University of Nottingham head out to South Africa to build a sustainable nursery school. Throughout the term a group of 2nd and 5th year architecture students have designed and developed a nursery school.
The team are developing the final design, raising funds and preparing to travel to South Africa where they will build the project themselves. The project is in association with Education Africa and is partly funded by Anglo Gold Ashansti.
We head out to South Africa in just under 2 weeks time to construct the school. We are out there for 6 weeks in total. As part of the project we have a proportion of the budget to raise. We would really love to receive your support. We are hoping to raise money to pay for building materials, tools and school equipment. The team are covering the cost of travel and being in South Africa themselves and all donations will directly fund the build.
We are using one of the University's current charity's to filter our money through (this is why its looks a bit odd where it says about the charity). Any money we do receive will be filtered through to our University of Nottingham account and therefore onto Education Africa and our fund.
Also tax payers remember to tick the box to accept Gift Aid as the government will then give us an extra 28p for every £1 you give us!
Keep checking out website www.projectjouberton.com to stay up to date with our progress and also our blog whilst we are out there.
Thanks for your support xxx
