About the charity : SOS Children's Villages SOS Children's Villages
SOS Children’s Villages provides family homes for children who have no one else to care for them. Over 60,000 orphaned or abandoned children are currently cared for by SOS mothers in clusters of family homes in more than 450 of our unique children’s villages, in 123 countries around the world. A further million benefit from SOS outreach programmes, which include nurseries, schools, vocational training in addition to medical and community development centres. SOS Children also runs emergency relief programmes in situations of crisis and disaster and continues to support families in Pakistan and tsunami-affected countries.

Welcome to Innocents Abroads Fundraising page for SOS Childrens Villages. Julian and myself will soon be embarking on an adventure through Africa taking approx. 8 months. We are leaving from Brighton UK on Feb18th and driving down through 22 countries ending up in South Africa around Christmas 2008. 

We felt we wanted to give something back to Africa in return for our experiences. We found SOS Childrens Villages to be doing phenominal work for the abandoned and orphaned children all around the world, and wanted to get on board.

We have organised varoius fundraising events for SOS, but we feel this is also a great way for people to donate online, and every little bit goes a long way.
