My story

Dear All

I am literally walking across hot coals for Advocates for International Development (A4ID) to help them continue the work they do providing legal services to NGOs to help further the Millenium Development Goals. These goals include the reduction of poverty, universal provision of primary education, reduction of child mortality and promotion of gender equality.

I have been volunteering for A4ID for over a year now and have been able to see how their work helps the least fortunate in developing countries around the world. Some examples of projects in which A4ID's Member lawyers have been involved are:

- helping to draft Violence Against Women legislation which is now law in Afghanistan (with WOMANKIND)

- producing a Guide to the Right to Education (with Action Aid)

- reviewing the Rural Code to ensure land rights are protected in Niger (with Tearfund)

If I reach the £500 mark I will also break an arrow against my neck and walk across broken glass. You may think I've lost it, but if I raise enough money I may get to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu so its not all altruism!

Donating through Justgiving is quick and secure. If you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

You can find further information abotu A4ID at www.a4id.org

Many thanks

Jo
