Story
For some crazy reason I have decided to challenge myself both physically and mentally and have entered the Atacama Crossing, which is a 250Km "race" run over 6 days across the highest and driest desert in the world - the Atacama in Chile.
While I have run a couple of marathons in the past, this is something on a scale I would have never even considered, until urged on by an equally crazy friend. The biggest challenge will be getting up every morning no matter how tired I am and how sore/blistered my feet are, putting my pack on (containing all food, clotheing, sleeping bag and mat etc) and running off again.......
I have decided to raise money for Marie Curie in South West Scotland while running/limping this challenge as I have seen first hand the excellent care that they give to patients and the support to their families, so enabling people to end their lives with dignity, surrounded by loving family and friends in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes.
I hope you appreciate what a good cause this is, and sponsor me for my challenge....
Thanks
Joasia
