Story
I'm Jonathan Soloman and I have lived at the Meath Epilepsy Trust's Godalming site for a little over eleven years. Let's face it guys, sometime life is tough! But the Meath is a great place and I get the support I want in helping me to manage my epilepsy and the encouragement that enables me to be myself and to achieve what I want in life.
Which is why I wanted to get involved with the Chief Executive's latest fundraising initiative - the Meath Canoe Challenge. Mike Keighley and his daughter Rebekah are canoeing the Thames from Cricklade to where the tidal waters begin at Teddington Lock, then back to Shepperton and along the Wey into Godalming; all in a week.
My virtual Canoe Challenge is to row along with them on a Concept Rowing Machine in our gym here at Westbrook Road - I'm aiming to complete two miles each day, which I shall be thrilled to complete! I'm following their progress and am even planning to join Mike on the last day, if at all possible.
All the money raised is going towards the building of a new facility here at the Meath to care for and support people living with severe epilepsy plus additional challenging disabilities. So it's in a very good cause!
If you would like to sponsor me, it's very easy. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. And once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the Meath and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. Which is good - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please help me to play my part in the Meath Canoe Challenge and empty those pockets out now!.
