Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

I am raising money for the charity ASSERT. This is a charity that provides help and support to children with Angelmans Syndrome. Holly is the daughter of one of my closest friends which is how I became aware of Angelmans. Please visit Hollys website for a hilarious insight into Hollys world, some more details on Angelmans and a link to the ASSERT website:

After doing half marathons over the last two years and raising over £2000 for ASSERT & the RNIB I've decided to up my game and do the full marathon. A big 26.2 miles in London on the 26th April 2008. No time targets as there will also be a 'guess the finishing time' competition being run! I work for National Grid who have a policy of matched giving. National Grid will match any charitable donation I make up to a maximum of £400 per person per annum. The minimum aim therefore isto raise £400 as with matched giving this would make £800 for ASSERT which would be fantastic. The overall target is to raise over £1000.

ASSERT arranges a national conference in Loughborough every two years and heavily funds it so that as many families and family members can attend as possible, from all back grounds,  for a weekend of trips, information and fun. And most of all, for a weekend at least, of normality. 2006 saw about 100 families attending and trips to American Adventure and Twycross Zoo.

£1000 will pay for the excursions for all 100 disabled children, their siblings and carers on both days. ! And many happy memories.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Angelman Syndrome Support Education And Research Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
