Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
On October 24th 2009 I begin the Trek for Treatment, a trek in the Anapurna mountain range of Nepal. This is a sponsored trek in aid of Leprosy.
Having visited the area previously I long to return. Not in search of 'the green eyed yellow goddess' in whom I don't really have any hope, but to experience again the lofty peaks and the exhilaration of making it to the top. I am a glutton for punishment but keen and determined to prove that I can still do it, even if I have passed the “big six o”.
Leprosy is not just a Biblical Disease, it is estimated that worldwide 2 million people are carrying the bacillus, which causes the disease and about 4 million are cured too late to prevent them developing the limb defects due to nerve damage, that will require constant treatment for the rest of their lives. By sponsoring me you can bring healing and hope to people suffering from a disfiguring disease which carries a terrible stigma.
I need your help to raise the £1,500.00 sponsorship money for the Leprosy Missions rehabilitation programme, I need your encouragement and I need your prayers.
Please help!
