Hi and thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

So check this! I have signed up to an extremely challenging 100km trek across the Namibian Desert– for charity. My sister is also coming over from Trinidad to join the trek and I guess to make sure that I make it there and back safely, she being my older sister :-). We will be trekking across Damaraland which is an area of exceptional natural beauty. Apart from the physical challenge I am told that we are likely to encounter wild beasts as well as scorpions and snakes. Yikes!! I am scared witless of snakes!

As you know I do not do ‘back to nature’ or no showers for 4 days and I certainly don't do taking calls of nature behind a bush ( are there bushes in the desert?!) in full view of 21 other women. I am the original ‘5* girl’ but I am prepared to give up that crown – at least temporarily – for charity.

My chosen charity is Fredericks Foundation, whose main aim is to help disadvantaged people who have the courage and determination to improve their situation by offering them financial loans and bursaries. I am passionate about helping disadvantaged young people, in particular, to gain independence, hence my interest in taking up this extreme challenge.

I am really very excited about this trek though I do have moments of absolute fear and terror. I have started training although I do still have some way to go.

Having got over the shock of me trekking in 36+ degree temperatures and had your laugh about me coping with the hygiene issues and the snakes, please give generously and certainly in direct proportion to the challenge I face. I promise to complete the 100km and I will even send you pictures – of the scenery only, unless you would like to see the not so nice bits. Actually you would not!
