I am running the BUPA Great North Run on October 5th to raise money for Chernobyl Children Life Line (Teignbridge and Torbay Link). This charity brings groups of children from Belarus to the UK for up to a month at a time. These children and their families are still suffering from the effects of the Chernobyl Nuclear disaster more than 20 years ago. The radioactive fallout left a legacy of contamination affecting every part of the Belarusian food chain causing cancers, leukaemia and other illnesses.
A stay in the UK , with clean air and uncontaminated food, can boost these children's immune systems and increase life expectancy by up to 2 years.
I would like to raise money, with your help, to support these children from Belarus and give more children a chance of a better, healthier life.
