                     " FIBROMYALGIA"

Fibromyalgia is a very painful condition causing widespread pain and fatigue as well as a variety of many other symptons. It affects the fibrous tissue (tendons, ligaments, muscles and produces soft tissue neuropathic pains which are located around joints and in skin and organs throughout the body.

The pain can be stabbing, lancing, shooting or diffuse aching from head to toe. Pain can vary from day to day and change location becoming more severe in parts of the body which are used the most ie, neck,shoulders,lower back,legs and feet.

Other symptons associated are as follows:-

All over body stiffness.

Daily chronic headaches, facial pains and Migraines.

Sleep Disturbances.

Cognitive Disorders which can vary from day to day. These include difficulty concentrating, spaciness, difficulty thinking of words/names and memory loss to name a few.

Irritable Bowel and Bladder.

Anxiety and Depression.

Chest symptons ( sometimes known as Costochrondritis) which causes muscle pain where the ribs meet the chest bone.

Fatigue or ME/CFS which can drain you of all energy as if someone has pulled the plug. Severe weakness then spreads throughout the whole body and you feel severely ill. 

These are just a few of the many symptons we all suffer from on a daily basis and is so mis-understood and sometimes not diagnosed for many years.
