Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
As some of you are aware Cameron has a rare syndrome Macrocephaly-Cutis Marmorata Telangiectitisa Congenita (M-CMTC) with right-sided hemi-hypertrophy. As part of this syndrome Cameron has 70% coverage of his body in birthmarks.
We have been set a challenge to lose 2 stone each in weight between the fun day on Sunday 14th May and the next one that takes place on Sunday 17th September 2006. That is 18 weeks to lose 4 stone between us.
The Birthmark Support Group receives no official funding and survives purely on the very kind donations of its members. The costs of running the group are ongoing and we are constantly looking for funds to cover the costs of:
• Newsletter Production and Distribution
• Correspondence
• Medical Conferences
• Marketing and Publicity
• Counselling
• PO Box operation
• Family Days
• Charity Events
• Technology Support
• Essential phone and counselling support can be provided
• Much needed research can be funded into the different birthmark types
• Public awareness of birthmarks can be raised through marketing and publicity campaigns
The aim of the group is to operate as a fully functioning charity and provide immediate information and support to any family that needs it.
Please dig deep and sponsor us online. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Birthmark Support Group will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. So please sponsor us now! Many thanks for your support.
16.07.06 - we are now half way through the challenge and have lost a total of 25.5lb (Brian has lost 10 and Julia has lost 15.5).
Well the challenge finished on 17th September and the final result is that between us we have lost 46.5 lb (Brian has lost 16 and I lost 30.5). This means that we didn't quite manage what we set out to do which was losing 2 stone each, but have still had a fabulous result and of course are both feeling so so much better for our losses. It is harder for Brian who as you know works away quite a bit so not as easy to be in control of the food when you cant prepare it yourself, and he also eats at some very strange hours which again isn't great when you are trying to lose weight.
Big big thanks for all your support and pledges - we would have raised £600
Julia & Brian
