Hello all. First let me thank you for taking the time to look at my fundraising page. Now the races. Ok so I’m going a little crazy this year and doing a few of the races in the Great Run series as welll as a few others. First is the Great Winter Run, which is a 5k race round Arthur's Seat – not far to run I know but you try running round a windy hill in Edinburgh in January! I completed this race in under 30 minutes, which is pretty slow but as it was my first race since injuring my knee I was pretty happy with it. Next is the Welcome to the World 5k at the end of March, this is the same route as the Great Winter Run so hopefully I can improve my time. I injured my ankle in the middle of February but will still be taking part in this race, I just won't be as fast as I had hoped to be. The following weekend I'm off to Dublin for the Great Ireland Run, a 10k round the city centre. At the end of April I'm off to Balmoral for another 10k race. After that it’s the Great Edinburgh run at the start of May. I did this run last year and managed to knock 12 minute of my time this year. Unfortunatly I wasn't successful in getting a place in the Great North Run, however I am entered in a half marathon in my home town of Dyce in sunny Aberdeen at the start of August. I am also competing in the Aberdeen 10k at the end of May. I may even enter some more races as I would like to run 100k in total this year, if I don't hurt my ankle again :o) Now where will the money raised go? To Employment Opportunities where I work as a Training Assistant. We assist people with disabilities and long-term health conditions find meaningful employment. We offer a wide range of services to clients, from confidence building and motivation to help writing cv’s and interview techniques to name but a few. We also have a fully equipped IT suite with a wide range of adaptive equipment so that everyone can access our services, all this requires money to enable us to provide a comprehensive service. There isn’t room here to detail everything that we offer our clients but if anyone would like to know more about what we do here then please get in touch, you can contact me at julia.milne@eopps.org, alternatively have a look at www.opportunities.org.uk All that remains for me to do is thank you for your time (and your donation?) and I will keep you up to date on my progress. Many thanks Julia May.
