My official time is 3:08:18, which is definitely a personal best by nearly seven minutes and should also qualify me for next year's race automatically.

As with my previous London Marathon run, Don Wilson was the closest to predicting my finishing time - just two seconds over. So he once more gets to nominate a charity to receive a donation from me.

I am specially keen on their support for expanding HIV/AIDS treatment in South Africa, to keep up the pressure on both the South African government and international donors to do more to keep people with HIV alive. They're also supporting vaccine research which is one of the best long-term prospects for turning the epidemic around. And of course they provide vitally needed hardship grants to individuals living with AIDS in the UK.
