Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
As some of you know I am a trustee of Womankind, which works together with women’s organisations around the world to reduce violence against women, support women to play an active role in society, and support them to fight for their rights.
This year is Womankind’s 20th birthday, and we can celebrate having helped around 10 million women in 71 countries. In order to continue this good work, the Trustees have agreed to raise £10,000. Any donation you make will trigger an additional 28% from the government if you Gift Aid it, and also a donation from Alec Reed, Womankind’s founder.
By using this site to donate just the equivalent of the cost of a glass of wine/healthy fruit juice each month can make an enormous difference.
£5 could give practical protection to two girls inspeaking out against female genital mutilation
£30 could enable a woman in , living in poverty, to develop the skills to fight the killing of baby girls she feels so passionately about
£50 could help 40 women in learn to read and write for the first time, so they can get more involved in the world around them
