As I approached my 40 birthday this year. I wanted to do something significant, both on a personal level but also something significant for others. I also wanted to rope Sean in to whatever it was and given his love of cycling we settled on a cycle challenge – Lands End to John O Groat’s.

We are fundraising funds for TWO charities that we feel strongly about; Seham Village Appeal; a wonderful little charity that builds and maintains schools in India to improve the educational and life chances of Indian children. Secondly for the sexual health charity fpa which strives to give people accurate, honest and no nonsense information about sex and relationships.

Those of you who know me well will know that I’m not a natural athlete, so attempting to cycle for over 1000 miles often up ascents of over 2000 feet will not come easily to me!

We have been training seriously and have spent every weekend for the last six months cycling, we have cycled through the snow of early 2009, and through wind and rains so we were grateful when the drier days appeared.

In just a few days now we are departing on a journey that will take us from the most southerly tip of England to the most northerly tip of Scotland, we will cycle for 15 days, 135 hours and 8000 minutes. It’s going to be tough!

So thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to fpa who will send half to SVA and will also make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate. We are funding the trip ourselves so that 100% of your donation will go equally to our two charites.

We really appreciate you taking time to sponsor our well meaning foolishness, Take care, Julie and Sean
