In memory of Barry Goundry

The Brain and Spine Foundation transforms the daily reality of people affected by any neurological condition, anywhere in the UK, through frontline professional services, innovative social research, and bold campaigning for change.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. So what is it all about?

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most effecient way to sponsor me: The Brain and Spine Foundation will recieve your money faset and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no extra cost to you.

I am taking part on the trek in memory of my dad Barry Goundry, who died of a Brain Hemorrage in March 1999. He was only 39 years old. I am asking you to donate as much as you can to support me - to remember him and to remember other who suffer from this terribel (some times fatel) condition.

What am i doing? Good question, in February 2007 i will be taking part in a charity expedition in the Maasai Mara in Kenya in association with Action Challenge to raise money for the Brain and Spine Foundation. Here i will spend ten days trekking across the Massai Mara National Park.

The money i raise will help the Brain and Spine Foundation to continue the high quality of services that they offer to so many people and their families across the country and help make life a little easier for those suffering with Neurological Disability.

The Challenge! The expedition itself ia a major challenge and will involve alot of personal preperation before the event. However, the physical challenge is not the only challenge i will face. The fundraising will also be a fun yet daunting challenge and this is the part where you come in. Now is the time to dig deep, collect the loose change that has fallen down the back of the sofa or, actually, simply just reach for that little plastic friend we call the credit card and help me raise as much as possible for this worthy cause.

I saw plenty of animals, including Zebra's, Giraffes and a dead hyena, which absolutely stank, still got close enough for a photo though, once i manged to hold my breath, lol.

Many thanks to all those who have sponsored me and lets hope we can reach the final total soon!

Many thanks for your support

Julie
