Hi,
In October this year I am going to join the team from ‘Hope and Aid Direct’, a totally voluntarily run charity who twice a year, travel to Kosovo in a convoy of 12 trucks. I shall be amongst 12 people who will be flying out to support the 24 who travel overland. Once in Kosovo the teams of volunteers accompanied by local interpreters/aides, deliver humanitarian aid directly to the poorest families, most of who have no way of earning a living to support their families.
Essential aid needed consists of food, toiletries, bedding, shoes and clothing, medical supplies and school equipment. We are very well supported with donations from the public, churches, clubs, schools and companies. We then have to raise funds for the truck hire, fuel, etc which currently costs upwards of £4000.
