World Record Skydive
700 skydivers - 24 hours - One world record attempt.
Over Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 2013 CLIC Sargent are attempting to smash the Guinness World Record for the most tandem parachute jumps in 24 hours.
To succeed, they are recruiting over 700 brave skydivers to take to the skies over the one weekend across five venues in Devon, Kent, Swindon, Wiltshire and Northamptonshire.
DOING IT FOR MY SISTER -
WHO AM I – James Bayly aged 15 (will be 16 by time of jump – FIRST EVER JUMP!!)
WHAT IS IT – World Record 15,000ft Sky Dive Attempt for Clic Sargent
WHERE IS IT – Dunkeswell Airfield, Nr Honiton
WHEN IS IT– Saturday 14 September 2013
WHY – For my sister Jasmine who is 14 years old.
Jasmine is currently going through 81 weeks of chemotherapy as she has an inoperable brain tumour. She suffers with Neurofibromatosis 1 (NF 1), a genetic condition which means her body has a propensity to develop tumours - so this may well not be her last.
Clic Sargent have been so great in not only providing a place for Jasmine and my Mum to stay when she was attending Bristol Children’s Hospital, but also for providing us with a couple of family respite breaks.
These are so welcome when your life is led by treatments and illness. The whole process also has a big impact on parents working lives and therefore on earnings, and so to have these breaks ‘gifted’ to you are so much appreciated.
If we succeed in our record attempt we could fund seven CLIC Sargent nurses for an entire year. That would be amazing and help so many sick children out there. It’s a scary process for them!
In order to be allowed to jump I must raise £395 for Clic Sargent. But I need your help..........take the plunge and do something amazing for children and young people with cancer. Please sponsor me and be part of a World Record Attempt in the process!! Wish me luck........
