ALL THE PEOPLE BELOW ARE PAYING FOR THE JUMP THEMSELVES. ALL DONATIONS WILL GO DIRECT TO THE MINIBUS APPEAL.  THE JUMP HAS HAD TO BE POSTPONED DUE THE CONDITIONS ON THE AIRFIELD.  IT IS NOW TAKING PLACE ON SATURDAY 27TH APRIL 2013.

From Siobhan and Kate

One morning in the Springfield Secondary at Wood Green staffroom over a flippant coffee conversation, the idea of a jump / fall was raised. Foolishly both Siobhan and Kate said "I'll do it if you'll do it!" They shook hands and the deal was done.

Siobhan regularly drives the school minibuses, and as the school PTA is raising money for a new bus the idea of raising money by terrifying ourselves seemed sensible.

Kate says: "We should all do something that terrifies us regularly to feel alive"

Siobhan says: "You must do things that get you out of your comfort zone and that challenge you every so often - especially before you get too old to care!"

Please make a donation so that our fear is not just for us.

It seemed like a good idea! We need to raise lots of money for a bus - our pupils deserve the best.

Phil Dimond

My wife, Katie, works at Springfield school and I frequently hear from her about problems with the minibuses and of how it affects the children - cancelling or limiting activities and trips. I've always liked the idea of a parachute jump, so when I heard that Springfield were organising a jump to raise money for new minibuses, I was persuaded to tag along. But that was last year. The jump seemed ages away - it was relatively easy to say "yes" then. When I say that I liked the idea of a jump, the crucial word is 'idea'; it's probably being able to say that I've done a parachute jump that appeals to me, more than the doing. Still, too late to back out now! I'm sure it will be fine - but please encourage me by donating generously.

Millie Larney

It’s been over 7 years since my Mum started working in the office at Springfield School and I now volunteer once a week in one of the classes. I’ve grown up understanding how great the pupils are, and how much the minibuses make a difference to their ability to experience trips out in the wider community and access activities they may not be able to otherwise.

I have always loved watching ‘I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here’, and every year when they parachute into the jungle I have always said “I would love to do that!” So when Kate and Siobhan told me what they were doing, I was desperate to join them, especially as it is going towards such a great cause.

So please dig dip, and sponsor me, which will give me the extra “push” to jump out of the aeroplane!
