Story
Every year, the Jump for Heroes project travels around the UK to skydive centres in order to allow people to take part with the JFH team in their fundraising. This is called the Jump for Heroes Summer Event.
The first summer event was in 2009, and the team cycled from John o'Groats to Land's End via several skydive centres, visiting a different centre on each of the 5 weekends of the project. They encouraged members of the public to raise money for them by completing a Jump for Heroes tandem parachute jump, leaping into the atmosphere attached to one of the centre's instructors, and donating their sponsorship to the 2009 project's nominated charity, Help for Heroes.

The project lasted for 6 weeks, and ended up smashing the original £10,000 target. It is estimated that in total the 2009 Jump for Heroes Summer Event has raised closer to £15,000. The much larger 2010 project is currently in the planning stage...
