When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community.

Story

The road of my stroke recovery has been full of big challenges but this one really is the huge!

In June 2017 I will be competing in the Beyond The Ultimate Jungle Ultra. This is one of the world's toughest footraces, 230km through the Amazon rainforest in Peru, carrying all my own kit. I will be battling through jungle undergrowth, river crossings and cloud shrouded mountain valleys.

I've been told to expect choking humidity, deep mud and heavy rain. There may also be periods spent running in darkness, following the marked route by head torch - not to mention the local wildlife!

I have been training for this for most of the past 9 months through the worst that the British winter could throw at me. Now with just over a month and a half to go, I am in the final stages of preperation.

It would mean the world to me if you would consider sponsoring me!
