Story
First, thanks for taking the time to read and consider donating.
Earlier this year a friend was diagnosed with cancer for the third time in five years. After beating it twice and herself previously raising millions for charity, this time the shock of "why me again" simply took all her fight away. She became suicidal, insular and ignored treatment. Fortunately, she was admitted to a residential centre supported by the Shaw Trust where she received counselling and encouragement to work through several past issues that helped give her the strength to face chemo and radio therapy again.
She did and defeated cancer amazingly for the third time.
So I'm running for all those people at the Shaw Trust who don't give up on those who just can't see ways out of the darkest of situations, domestic violence, psychological abuse or like my friend had just given up the fight.
Makes you want to be like them don't you think?
