Thanks for visiting my 2011 Liverpool Marathon fundraising page.
I'll be running the 2011 Liverpool Marathon on Sunday the 9th of October to raise money to support the valuable work done by the Sickle Cell Society. Some members of my immediate and extended family have sickle cell trait, which will not normally affect them directly, but means that they have a chance of having children with the much more serious disorder of sickle cell anaemia if their partner also has the trait.
It's my first attempt at a full 26.2 mile marathon, and so is a bit of a step into the unknown. I'm hoping to get round in about 3 hours and 30 minutes. If you'd like to, please leave a short message with your donation to sustain me up and down the Wirral, through the Mersey Tunnel, and round and round Liverpool to the finish.
All donations made through this page are secure and will sent by JustGiving directly to the Sickle Cell Society. If you are a UK tax payer, JustGiving can reclaim tax you've already paid on your donation as Gift Aid, so your donation is worth even more.
More information about sickle cell disorders and the Sickle Cell Society is available on the society's website at http://www.sicklecellsociety.org/.

Thanks and best wishes,
Justin
