Dear Friends,

Firstly, I would like to thank you for visiting our JustGiving page.

So a description of what it is we would like to achieve...Dave and I have entered the Barcelona Bangers Rally Event which starts in Calais, France on 01st June 2012.  

The event is broken down into stages and each team must complete each stage.  There are various tests and tasks to perform along the way, much like the Top Gear challenges, did I mention that this is to be completed in a car that must cost no more than £250. 

Our personal aim is to be the first team into Barcelona, this may seem like a big ask considering the other teams in the line up, but we don't strive for 2nd place.  Also I hasten to mention, but only days after the event is due to finish, Dave and I need to be back in the UK to see our good friend Phil get wed.  In total we need to complete approximately 2800miles in 6 days in a shed. 

100% of all money raised is going directly to Alzheimer's Research UK.  This is a local charity here in the East of England that conduct world-class research to prevent, treat and cure dementia on a nationwide scale.  Dave and I have chosen to support this charity due to the amazing work that they do. 

Once returning to the UK after this epic journey is complete we hope the car will have enough life left in it to auction and help us hit our target of £1000 for this amazing charity.
