Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Well everyone, we managed to reach the summit of Ben Nevis on 26th May 2012. A few fit folk from the group managed to reach it in record level speed but all 21 of us made it to the top! I am so proud of everyone's achievement that day. The 4400ft climb is one of the hardest things i have ever done in my life but its nothing compared to the fight my sister goes through every day. She has taught me that nothing is impossible and im proud to have her as my sister. Thank you so much to everyone who has helped us raise the funds, your kindness will never be forgotten. Especially the guys who made the climb on the day, you all hold a special place in my heart. Emma x
My sister Justine, aged 23, contracted encephalitis in November 2011. Her specific kind is caused when the Immune system attacks the brain in error. This left her in a coma for 4 months and fighting for her life on numerous occasions. She has a baby girl Baylee who doesnt understand what is happening or why she cant see her mummy. It is heart breaking and although she improves slightly each month it is still a long process to full recovery. She has no use of her arms and legs at present but the equipment we are raising funds for will help aid her muscle strength and hopefully her outcome.
My work colleagues and I are attempting to climb Ben Nevis on the 26th May to raise the money required to replace broken equipment at the Southern General Hospital. The physio department is involved on a daily basis with Justine and this equipment is vital to her recovery. Please donate as much or as little as you can and help Justine come back home to her little girl and partner Neil as soon as possible.
