Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

I hope that you will generously support my Marathon run for RoadPeace, since mine was the only place made available this year to this small, but so vitally important charity - which places a great fundraising responsibility on me!

Why do I want to fundraise for RoadPeace? In 1990, when my wife was 15, her brother was killed by a red light offender and his death led to the formation of RoadPeace - by their mother Brigitte Chaudhry. So I am very closely involved with this charity and supportive of its aims, work and campaigns.

I know that what happened to my brother-in-law (whom I never got to know) and to so many thousands of others, could still happen to you or me, that thousands of people get injured and killed on UK roads each year.

RoadPeace is the charity that offers essential information and support to bereaved and injured road crash victims, makes them understand that they are not alone and represents their interests in connection with legal and other procedures that inevitably follow a road death or injury.

RoadPeace receives no government funding and relies on the fundraising efforts of their members and supporters. It is an important charity, which this year received recognition from the Guardian - as one of the 5 winners of their Charity Awards 2008 (http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/video/2008/dec/04/guardian-charity-awards-roadpeace)

The name of your loved one on my running top
I have thought about preparing a special top for the run with the names of people who have lost their lives in road crashes. I would of course like to have enough names to fill the top completely, even if this would mean the writing would be quite small, but the impact would be great.
Anyone who would like to sponsor me and have the name of your loved one on my running top, please put the first name, surname and age of your loved one in the Comment column when you make your donation.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Roadpeace gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you very much for your sponsorship!
