The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) is one of the world's top cancer research organisations as well as being the home of the Everyman male cancer campaign. With the ICR working in all areas of cancer research from genetics through to drug development, its male cancer campaign, Everyman, focuses specifically on raising awareness and funds for research into prostate and testicular cancer. For further information about the work of the ICR and Everyman, please visit their brand new JustGiving profile pages at: www.justgiving.com/icr and www.justgiving.com/everyman

Story

I would like to very much thanks and apologise to Stephen Finnemore, David Currall, Paresh Patel, Fiona Urquhart and Sarah Dunn for not formally thanking them as I am unsure where you are from, please send let me know. Thank you so much once again.

I would very much like to thank everyone for their generosity, I have been so touched and inspired by people’s kind words and optimism. There have been many private donations too and I have so far raised over £3000 for the Institute of Cancer and Marie Curie, which is fantastic. I completed the 5kms swim on 22nd March in two and a half hours and whilst I swam a lovely lady came over to wish me luck and said that she had just completed a swimathon too, she was inspired to do this as she had been saved from brain cancer and was still under going chemotherapy. This is one of the most admirable and courageous things that I have encountered and further proof that money raised for these charities saves lives. The website is up for a further month and I would be delighted if it was sent to anyone who is interested in helping such a fantastic cause.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

On March 22nd 2007 I am participating in an organized Swimathon. I intend to get rather wet and cold by jumping into a pool and will swim 5 kms for charity. The Swimathon is an annual event that raises money for Marie Curie, a charity that provides nurses for terminally ill people so that they have a choice to be at home. Please find a secure website link;

 The other charity that you may prefer to donate through is the Institute of Cancer Research , which is the world's most recognized and innovative charity, where they fund all the research to try to find a cause for this terrible disease. Please find a secure website link;

I have specifically chosen these two very important charities. I would also like to do this in the memory of two amazing and unforgettable people who have lost their lives through cancer and one who survived. I would like all sponsorship to be in ‘memory of Caroline Canning’.

Please sponsor whichever charity you prefer and I very much appreciate any sponsorship for any amount, for such a worthy cause.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Institute of Cancer Research will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.

Caroline x
