London Triathlon 2008 · 9 August 2008 ·

We believe that no one should be excluded from the life-changing benefits of community sport. We support community sports clubs, organisations, coaches and volunteers to provide inclusive inclusive sports offers, helping change the lives of underserved young people in their local community.

Story

OK so it's been a while since my last hairbrained scheme to raise much needed funds to give every kid the opportunity to make the most out of their sporting talents. I've climbed Kilimanjaro (amazing!) run the London Marathon (disastrous!) and now am going to attempt to complete the London Triathlon in under 2 and a half hours. As I have the buouyancy of a lead weight, this is going to be my toughest challenge yet, so please support me if you can!

I was lucky as a kid and had sporting facilities and an enthusiastic coach (thanks Dad!) to get me started in my chosen sport. I never dreamt it would lead all the way to the Olympic Games but at the time I loved hockey and played purely for the enjoyment.

I believe that every kid deserves the chance to play whatever sport they'd like to and Access Sport works with local clubs and communities to enhance the facilities, coaching standards and provide the equipment to make this possible.

If you enjoyed sport as a kid, please donate generously and let's give the next generation the chance to enjoy sport and find out where their talents can take them.

Many, many thanks for donating and if you'd like to come down to support on the day, I'll be the tall lanky one in the full body lycra!!!!!

Cheers

Jon
