Tiny Lives is a charitable trust that helps to care for 800+ premature and sick newborn babies and their families each year. It supports the Newcastle Neonatal Service at Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary that cares for babies from across the North East and Cumbria.

Story

Our daughter was born at 23weeks gestation weighing 560grams.

She had a 0.4% chance of surviving by the time she was flown from rake lane to hope hospital in manchester they thought she would have died especially since the helicopters battery ran low for her machines...shes had countless amounts of needles in her arms, legs, ankles ,head ,belly button, spine and chest, catheters, medication and oxygen to keep her alive...shes had 57 blood tranfusions including white cells, red cells, plasma and platelets, pda ligation on her heart, chest drains, both lungs have collapsed, lazer eye surgery to stop her going completely blind, hernia operation, operation on her bowels, operations on her ears, brain haemorrage, lumbar punctures, dental surgery etc most of which happened to her within her first 4 months..she was on oxygen untill she was 2,had hearing aids since she was 18mths old and now goes through a lot of different therapies to try and help her catch up to her age group..there is more but im going to end it there..

Thanks to their support our daughter will be 10 years old later on this year :-)

Tiny Lives support for the RVI helped save her live and now we want to give them something back. To help save other babies lives.

What better way then to run the Great North Run for a Great North Charity.
