Story
Thank you for visiting our Kangemi Appeal page - apologies for its simplicity as this is being done urgently from Africa.
Excellent Friends will know that we are have managed to get Relief Food for the people of Kangemi on a 'Food for Work' basis - digging terraces to improve the performance of their dams for water and their farming fields for food.
800 UK Pounds will help us to get 5kg of maize, beans and cow pea seeds for all 160 families in Kangemi to plant on September 15th. Any extra funds raised will be used for our other work with Kangemi and others.
Another 300 pounds will help us provide 3,000 tree seedlings when the rains come in November to help protect the terraces, provide food for animals and fertilise their crops.
Another 1,000 pounds will help us expand the seed bank next season to include other crops like sorghum, finger millet, pigeon peas and green gram.
125 pounds a month will help us employ an extension officer and open a nursery in Kangemi to grow fodder and fruit trees. Please help all you can. There are already goats and cows dieing and we want to help prevent it get any worse. Thanks Simon
