My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page to raise awareness of the poverty in Peru - where 1 child in every 26 dies before they reach their 5th birthday.

You might, or might not know that I was on crutches for the better part of 2006 and practically had to learn to walk again. During that time I vowed that when I got better I would commit to a trek to Machu Picchu. 8 hours of hiking for 10 days at altitudes of up to 4450m.

It's taken 2 years but I am finally doing it and your support will mean that my recovery is worth something to someone else who we might never meet.

Please know that I hate walking and hiking - it's not my idea of fun. But I am doing it because I can - and I want to do something amazing with what I've been given.

YOU can do something amazing too, without having to leave the comfort of your own home/office/car/sofa -your money will be going a long way and even the smallest donation will make a difference.

Please sponsor me and help me raise as much as I can for ActionAid - this worthwhile charity. I know there's an economic crisis going on, which is why it's even more important to raise funds for those who need it. The poor exchange rate means that sponsorship going to the poorest nations in the world is also worth less.
