Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.  I am going to run 12 half marathons this year, in an attempt to raise as much money as I can for CLIMB  http://www.climb.org.uk/

I chose to raise money for CLIMB as they have assisted and continue to assist some close friends of mine through some very tough times over recent years and I hope you will all help me to raise money for this very worthwhile cause by sparing a few quid!

CLIMB provides information & support to those affected by over 700 different Inherited Metabolic Diseases all of which are incurable.

On 3rd January 2009 I completed the Hebden 14 in an extremely slow time of 3 hours and 26 mins; but what a beautiful part of the world I'm so lucky to live near.

On Sunday 22nd February 2009 I completed the Great North West Run in sunny Blackpool in 2 hours 12 mins!

On Saturday 28th March 2009 I completed the Coniston 14, which is a road race circling Lake Coniston, Cumbria.  I completed this 14 mile run in 2 hours 16 mins.  Absolutely stunning scenery & wonderful organisation.

I finished the Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday 26th April 2009 in 2 hours 10 mins - I think it was the warmest day South Yorkshire has seen for many a month!

I completed the Buxton Half Marathon on Sunday 24th May 2009 in 2 hours and 20 minutes.  By far the most difficult race so far - combination of hills & heat.  Great feeling crossing the finish line!

On Sunday 14th June 2009 I completed the "Potters Arf Marathon" in Stoke in 2 hours 21 minutes.  Amazing support from the public throughout this hot & hilly run.

I searched & searched for a half marathon close enough to home for July but could not find anything closer than 100 miles away!  Therefore, I signed up for the Leek Half Marathon

On Sunday 30th August 2009 I was lucky to have great running weather & yet more beautiful countryside for the Leek Half Marathon.  A very tough run with 50% of it on the uphill & the remaining 50% on the downhill.  Came away with a time of 2 hours 11 mins and sore feet, shins & knees!

Sunday 7th November 2009 - Lancaster Half Marathon 2 hours 20 minutes.  Reminded me of cross country when I was 10!  Muddy & wet!  Nice and flat for the majority of the distance.

Sunday 29th November 2009 - Clowne Half Marathon (Derbyshire) 2 hours 11 minutes.  Finally I've done it!  Completed a half-marathon without having to stop to walk.  Really pleased with myself.  Terrible weather but great support.

Sunday 3rd January 2010 - Central Lancashire New Year Half Marathon "UNFORTUNATELY, THIS RACE HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO A COUPLE OF HAZARDOUS SECTIONS ON THE ROUTE. IT IS HOPED TO RESCHEDULE THIS SHORTLY"

Sunday 21st February 2010 - Great North West Half Marathon, Blackpool
