Dear All
Help for Heroes supports injured servicemen and women, to ensure they are provided with the best possible care and support during their rehabilitation. Having worked with military patients for nearly ten years, I have seen first hand the terrible injuries being sustained, and the courage and determination they show in coming to terms with these life changing injuries. Help for Heroes is raising money in an attempt to ensure that they are provided with the best possible care and support, to fund state of the art equipment and facilities to assist with their rehabilitation.
These injured servicemen face daily challenges, things that you and I take so very much for granted, and as my support and admiration for them continues, I decided that I too would set myself a challenge in order to support them. So, on December 4th I will be facing my next challenge - climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in a bid to raise a whole lot of money for Help for Heroes, as well as proving to myself that I can actually do it! It would mean so much if you were able to sponsor me in my mission to conquer the mountain, as well as helping me to help the heroes that we hear so little about. Training has been going well - I climbed Snowdon in September, did the Great South Run in October, and also completed the dreaded HellRunner race in November, through mud, water and hilly terrain. I also have a place in the London Marathon again next year, so the training doesn't end just yet!
The trip has already been paid for by myself, therefore all the money I raise will go towards helping our heroes. If you would like to sponsor me, donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Help for Heroes gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page. Your support is much appreciated and any donations, big or small, really will go towards helping a fantastic cause.
In the meantime, I'll keep you updated.....there are just a few days to go.....
Much love, and huge thanks
Karen xxx
