The Kataria family are participating in the 10km Mouth Cancer Walk on 26th September 2009 to raise funds and awareness for The Mouth Cancer Foundation.
As you may know, we have lost two members of our family to mouth cancer. Mouth cancer doesn't just take lives, it debilitates and disfigures those who suffer from it. It affects the ability to eat, to speak and robs sufferers from self-esteem and confidence.
Support for mouth cancer sufferers is rare. It certainly wasn't around when my mum was diagnosed in 1988, and things hadn't improved much when my uncle got it three years ago. Yet it is so vital for sufferers and carers to have this support to come through this harrowing illness. The Mouth Cancer Foundation is doing it's best to fill this gap, but it needs your support to reach more people.
So please, dig deep and support The Mouth Cancer Foundation in their great work. The target isn't too high, and with your help I am sure we will hit it well before the event.
