The National Autistic Society is here to transform lives, change attitudes and create a society that works for autistic people. There is still so much to do to increase opportunities, reduce social isolation and build a brighter future for autistic people. With your help, we can make it happen.

Story

I did the Race for Life as preparation- thanks to all who contributed. Now it's the Big One. The one I said I'd never do again because of how it would rupture my knees forever. Still, they're intact and hopefully will remain so as I shuffle through the Great North Run whilst writing poems as their official Poet in Residence. I'm also running in aid of The National Autistic Society who have been a great help to me while I've been researching autism issues for a show I'm doing. I think me and many of those arty, sciencey people I know are pretty high on the spectrum, but so are lots of people who have an even harder time communicating and being, so I'd like to support their great work, and hope you will too.
