Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. We are running the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 12th October, in aid of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association UK (PHA-UK). Pulmonary Hypertension (PH) is a rare lung disorder in which the blood pressure in the pulmonary artery rises far above normal levels, resulting in an enlarged heart which can lose its ability to pump. There is currently no cure for PH and it is often not diagnosed until the disease is very advanced. In an effort to help raise much needed funds for more research into the causes and treatment of pulmonary hypertension, we shall attempt to run a marathon between us. We are running together, in memory of Kate's mum (Mrs M), who bravely fought PH for several years. This October marks four years since she died and this is one way we hope to try and help the team from Hammersmith Hospital and everyone from PHA-UK, who provided expert medical care and kind support during such a difficult time. Please feel free to sponsor us for as little or as much as you can. Every penny counts and is really appreciated, however large or small. It will certainly make our run less painfull and more worthwhile. Thanks so much for your support. Kate and Paul xxx PS. Donating through Justgiving is really quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Pulmonary Hypertension Association UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
