BUPA Great North Run 2008 · 5 October 2008 ·

At Home in the Community is a Christian charity which supports and enables adults with learning disabilities to live their lives to the full. It does this by providing domiciliary care, independent support living and residential care and also by promoting understanding in the community of the needs and aspirations of people with learning disabilities.

Story

Great North Run October 5th 2008

Those of you who have known me for a long time ( and those who haven’t too!)  will undoubtedly realise this is the one and only time in my life I will ever ask you to consider sponsoring me for running  (and not just for a short distance either).  I have not solely been consumed by madness but volunteered to run the half marathon as the charity-  ‘At Home in the Community’  is very dear to my heart.

At Home in the Community is the Christian charity that looks after Jonathan’s sister- Jane. They provide care and support for adults with learning disabilities in the North East. They have 5 homes, including Jane’s in Hexham , and also provide supported living care for adults with learning disabilities in an individual setting.

If you would like to know more about the fantastic work they do please look them up on  www.athome.uk.net

As a small independent charity, every pound raised makes such a difference

If you felt able to support At Home by  sponsoring me that would be fantastic.

Many thanks

Kate
